ABOUT FASHION@BROWN

Established in 2010, fashion@brown, more colloquially known as f@b, is one of Brown University’s largest student-run organizations with over 250 members and 10 teams. f@b spearheads creative expression at Brown through a variety of fashion-related outlets including our fall and spring fairs, fashion shows, photoshoots, and speaker series. Our primary focus is to be an accessible, informative, and creative space for young designers, hair and makeup artists, graphic artists, journalists, business-minded individuals, and fashion enthusiasts. We hope that members and those engaging with f@b leave not only more inspired and informed, but with the necessary skills to enter and succeed in the fashion industry and beyond.

STRUCTURE

As a student-organization, we aim to act as a microcosm of the fashion industry. As such our teams are reflective of what you might find in the world of fashion. f@b is organized around ten teams:

Business, DEI, Design, Editorial, Events, Graphic Design, Hair and Makeup, Industry Programming, Photography, and Social Media

Apart from these 10 teams, f@b has a general body of members who may choose to  participate in any initiatives sponsored by specialty teams. Our structure allows for members to be as specialized or as general as they desire.

As an organization, we recognize the importance of centering sustainability and diversity, equity, and inclusion within our work and relationships. To this day, the fashion industry remains a space that lacks inclusivity and diversity. As such, we continuously strive to be the best version of the fashion industry — a version we hope we can foster through the next generation of creative-minded individuals. Our goal is to leave a positive impact not only on members, but also on the world around us.
